PA ACT 129: QUICK FACTS ON HOW IT WORKS FOR YOUR FACILITY

Act 129 requires Duquesne Light, and the other electric distribution companies in Pennsylvania to develop cost-effective plans that will reduce electricity consumption. Duquesne Light’s plan to meet these requirements, Watt Choices, has been in operation since 2009. This third phase of the program covers the period of June 1, 2016—May 31, 2021.

REBATES FOR YOUR PROJECT

Energy Efficiency Rebates are available for equipment upgrades and improvements, including lighting and cooling. Rebates are paid based on the quantity, size, and efficiency of the equipment.

Incentive Structure: Prescriptive (catalog-based) and custom ($/kWh-based) rebates are offered to reduce the cost for installation of energy efficient equipment.

Custom incentives are available to customers for less common or more complex energy saving measures installed in qualified retrofit and equipment replacement projects. Custom measure incentives are paid based on kWh savings. Projects that include both custom measures and equipment listed in the rebate catalog will receive custom incentives. Projects involving only equipment listed in the rebate catalog are not eligible for a custom incentive.

In addition, there are funding opportunities for projects in this customer segment. To learn more about this opportunity for project funding view the link: http://freefutures.org/pennsef/about/.
